Trade Name :    Computer Operator and Programming Assistant  [ COPA ]

Introduction :    This Vocational Trade is introduced in selected ITIs in 1996. It is 'O level' equivalent full time computer course with daily 2 hrs. theory & 5 hrs. practical schedule.

Duration :    1 Year ( 52 Weeks )

Base Qualification :    H.S.C.  ( 12th under 10+2 pattern, Science, Commerce, Arts or Vocational )

Intake Capacity :    26 trainees ( single batch of 26 Trainees )

Objectives :    Trainee is expected to gain the following competencies -

1.  Hands on experience of working with PC and network.

2.  Typing speed and multilingual typing capability.

3.  Working with office automation packages like MS Office or Open Office.

4.  Database management and maintenance.

5.  Programming in C, ASP.net & VB.net

6.  Using internet for e-mail, information search, etc.

Brief Syllabus :

Fundamentals of Computer (history, generations, input/output/memory device, first aid maintenance, number system, computer codes)

Operating Systems ( Windows XP, Linux )

MS Office ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access )

Database Management ( DBMS & RDBMS Concepts, MySQL, Access)

Programming ( programming logics & techniques, algorithm/ pseudocoding/ flowcharting, programming in C, ASP.NET & VB.NET )

Networks & Communication ( Networking Concepts, Topologies, LAN/MAN/WAN, Internet )
